Further lilniiny was done hv Messrs B. Sykes and d. S. Hodgson, ollieial photographers, who accompanied lE.M.K. Hood on her world trip, and who. when here, put themselves in the hands of the (hivenunent Publicity Department. These photographers, who were engaged upon making a pictorial record of the trip were sent to Mount Cook and obtained good ] ietures of the mountain, to Mount Eginont. Tonga riro National I’aik. and Rotorua, and now. in a letter ol thanks, they express the opinion that while at these pi! lll's they secured .something unique in tin- win- of photography. The Hood wheii .she left Wellington was an absolute information bureau on N'-w Zealand, as not only was ViceAdmiral Field presented with an allium of photographs of the Dominion, suitably mounted, hut framed photographs were placed on board. Alucli special New Zealand literature was sent down to the warship, and oflicets. petty ofli-eei-s ,-utd luen all were supplied with matter advertising the Dominion in word and picture. In addition, every senior ollicer in the squadron was presented with a hook of photographs. A special set of photographs has just I prepared for the Canadian I’acilie Railway, and will be put in main hotels along tin- Canadian I’aeilic Route. Further sets are to follow this, and are now being prepared, while new sets for the High Commissioner's Office are being got together. These will include views of the four cities, up to date sets of which are lacking, and will be carried on to include shortly all the main towns of New Zealand.
The work of tho Department abroad continues to expand largely, and a
great number of enquiries as to the* prospects which New Zealand lias to offer arrive constantly. South Africa, and Canada bead tile o li-t. though other countries are all well represented.
