CAPTAIN AND OFFICERS EXONERATED. HARBORMASTER'S SERIOUS ERROR OF JUDGMENT. [ lIV TKLiKGIt.U’II WELLINGTON. May The Nautical Court gave judgment this morning in the inquiry regarding the wreck of the Ngnhere at Gie\mouth on Ist. May. exonerating Hr master and olliccr- of the vessel. I'm judgment stated: Captain Oreen had made all reason able enquiries, as well as an tuspee tion. llarh irmaster Cox had asMiret the master of the Ngah.iv that then was sufficient water on tlm bar. When the Regulu- struck, the tact was signalled to the signal station and communicated to the ll.tibouimaster, wli.. did not ior..rm .lie ma-n r of the Ngnhere. and he allowed tie. vessel to go out without further sounding to verify the depth of water on me bar. . The Court was of opinio" that tinHarbourmaster had committed a sennits error of judgment. The Court therefore exonerated the captain and officers from any blame for the disaster. ________
