SHAKESPEARE FIND.
MONTREAL. March *2O. An old. tattered volume, minus its cover a.s well as its first ami last leaves, which has lain for many years neglected and uncatalogued, turns out to he one of the chief treasures of McGill University Library. The volume contains live plays, and of these chief interest attaches to one by Shakespeare. It is a quarto of “Richard ll." of the 1 .“OS edition. The volume containin'! the play was part of the bequest of the late Mr John Robson, of Warrington. It bears his book label, with the date ]Boo.—Reuter.
A London expert, discussing the find said tlisit eight copies of the 1093 quarto edition of “Richard II.” are known to exist. Pio far as his- recollection went no copy had appeared in a London saleroom for some years. There could be no question as to the great value of the discovery.
