Matson and Co., report as iollow.s regarding thuir stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store .sheep.—Another large yarding lor this time of the venr. and included sheep from tlie West Coast. Nelson and Sounds. A large proportion of the entry comprised old ewes which were hard to sell and many lots failed to find purchasers. Wethers and lambs, however, met with keen competition, and sold well. .Mixed aged ewes 22s to 28s (id. one extra good line of ! and ii-tooth .1 bred ewes making -I Is; medium class ewes 18 s (id to 22s (id; others down to IBs. Best iambs S.M. 21s (id to 21s; J bred ewe lambs 275; J bred wether lambs to 2.‘is ; small and interior 17s to 21s; culls down to I ts. Store sheep—Rest forward wethers MIN to 32s Kid. medium 27s tj.l to 29s Sd : others down to 2-ls. hut the latter were very .small. (Store cattle.—-A fairly large yarding comprising u very miscellaneous entry, old eow.s and odd lots again comprising the bulk of the entry. The demand nil round showed an improvement on
recent sales. Very few big cattle were entered. 3-yr. steers £3 13s to £-1 10s. 2-yr. ditto £2 3s to £3 2s (id; yearlings 13s to 2iis, 2-yr heifers £2 to £3 UK. yearling ditto 23s to 335; cows los to £2 Ills. Fat pigs.—-There was a medium entry of porkers and baeoner-. which met with a good demand selling at late rates. Country, as well as Me.-t Cen-t butchers were operating keenly, and combined with the competition of tree/.ing buyers and local tradesmen.
