LONDON, May 10. General Townslieml succumbed suddenly to throat paralysis, after bravely lighting for months against spina trouble, the result of war strain. VIOLENT VOLCANIC ERUPTION. HONOLULU May 10. Three persons are unaccounted for following the violent explosion iu the crater of the Kilauea volcano. Advices from Hilo state that the explosion was the most violent ol the current period of activity m the volcano. There were eleven explosions on Saturday night and three notable ones on Sunday morning, besides numerous lesser disturbances. In each ease a loud detonation was folio"«. bv a shower of large round stones which were burled three-quarters ol a mile. The stones were lollowed by rain, ashes and mud.
