WEST COAST RACING

The District Racing Committee met at Oreyinouth yesterday afternoon. Present: .Messrs Coates (Chair), Walton, Behan, Evans and Gilbert. racing dates. Applications for racing dates for the coming season ivere received and dealt with as follows: Westport Jockey Club—December Gth. 1924 (extra day).—Recommended. April 11 th (Faster Saturday) and 13th (Faster Monday) not agreed to, other dates to lie selected.

Westland Racing Club—December 2(ith. and 27th. 1924; April loth. (Faster Wednesday) 1923.—Recommended.

Recltoti Jockey Club—January 3 and 3th. Dates not available; suggested alteration. Jan. Gth. and 7th. April 22nd. approved, but regret expressed that the Club had not fallen in M-itii the proposed altered circuit of dates to race in March, following'the Westport race meeting. The Chairman stated that if Rcefton would give the alteration a trial for next season, the Greymouth Club would guarantee the Rcefton Club against any loss over the meeting, and the Greymouth Club would hold only a two days’ meeting at New Year.

The Greyinonth Jockey Club in view of Rcefton not agreeing to the suggested autumn circuit, decided to hold a three days’ meeting at the Xeu Year o:i December 30th. January ls't. and 3rd. Regret was expressed that the new proposal conic! not lie brought into force. Greyinonth Club would hold the usual one day meeting at Faster neck-end. general. The Okuru Club reported that a successful race meeting hail boon held on Faster Monday. The Blenheim Club asked that a raehorse, the lees for which were in default, lie placed on the unpaid forfeit list. Reports in regard to the recent meetings nt Westport. Kumara, Hokitika. Greymouth and Rcefton were received and ordered to be sent to the Racing Conference. The fines imposed were endorsed.
