[nY TELEGRAPH—PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] C'HRJSTCHURCII CASES. CHRISTCHURCH, May 12. The criminal sessions at the Supreme Court opened to-day before Air Justice Adams, The calender is a light one, with ihe exception of the alleged ringing-in ease, which will lie started to-morrow. A stay of proceedings was entered in tt ease against Charles Henry Augustus Jones, charged with unlawful carnal knowledge, as he had since married the girl, lie was remanded, however, for sentence, for making a false declaration under the Marriage Act.
Lionel Irving was acquitted on a charge of indecent exposure. , Lionel Roland Wilder was acquitted mi tt charge of breaking, entering and theft. His Honour, when discharging hint, snitl he was a very fortunate mau.
John O’Brien was found guilty of theft of tt suitcase containing clothing valued at I*3, with a recommendation, to mercy on account of his age. Ho was sentenced to twelve and was declared an habitual criminal.
