[BY TEL EG It API!—PER ritESS ASSOCIATION. R.S.A. CONFERENCE. PALMERSTON N., May 12. The annual conference of the Wellington District R.S.A. was held on Sa turdny with a fair attendance of delegates. An important discussion centred on tho proposal to abolish the district scheme of organisation, delegates expressing the opinion that tho district method was doomed, as they needed a more simple and less expensive form of organisation. A remit embodying this opinion was forwarded to the Dominion Conference. j .SUPREME COURT.
PALMERSTON X., May 12. At the Supreme Court, Bertie Foldsworth was sentenced to six months, the sentences to ho -concurrent, on charges of bigamy, making false declarations, and committing forgery. The prisoner appeared for sentence las* week, when his Honour said tho ease was not one for probation, but deferred sentence to give the prisoner an opportunity of marrying the lady. If the parties married he would take a difleront view ol the case in passing sentence. Counsel for tho prisoner today handed his Honour the marriage I certificate of prisoner and the lady, and sentence was passed as stated.
LNCOME TAX RETURNS. GREYM.OUTH, May 12. James Stewart Orr, an engine driver. was lined the minimum of £2 on each of two charges, with costs, for failing to supply income tax returns. Mr Kitchinghnm (for the Crown) said the case was taken as a warning to small wage earners. They wore responsible to forward returns of income over C2ofl.
