On .Monday next u First National special, entitled ‘•Slander the Woman” and starring Dorothy Phillips and I.ewis Dayton will he presented. It is the story of a "ill whom the fiery tongues of scandal had seared and burned—the story of her fight to regain that fragile hut priceless possession—Reputation ! With its scenes laid in aristocratic halls and the open spaces of the "rent snow country, the drama moves with tremendous power and sordino emotions. Although comparatively unknown to film fans in this country, Lewis Dayton, who is playing opposite Dorothy l’hillips in •‘Slander the Woman," produced and diiected h.v Allen lloluh ar, is a star m his own right in England. Ilis selection for the diflieullt characterisation of Judge Duroacher in this forthcoming Fii>i National picture is an evidence of the care exercised h.v Director ITo--I,’ihar in assembling a cast. Al ter considering American actors the producer was not satisfied with any of those suggested for the role. Then Dayton’s name and accomplishments were called to his attention—an interview followed and the engagement resulted. The coining special attractions for next week are on Wednesday next Australia's greatest hush drama and on Thursday next the world’s greatest favourite Jaf-kie t’ogan in his latest big success "Daddy.” So picture lans are in for a good time.
