ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph.—Special to uuardiaa) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Alessrs 11. Alatson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— Store .Sheep—A fair sized yarding for this time of the year, mostly old ewes. The market all round was keen, especially for all classes of wethers and lambs. Any good young ewes also sold well, but older and interior hardly showed the same keenness. .S.AI. crossbred ewes made 23s oil. aged ditto IS-, (id to 22s .‘iJ, inferior sorts Ms to 17s ltd. best forward wethers to .‘Ms 2d. good forward ditto 2f)s to ills It,’d, best 5-hrcd lambs 22s to 25s .’id. medium 18s to 21s, j-bred ewe hi mbs 23s (id to 275. mixed sex crossbred lambs l ls to 23s 7d. Store cattle —A very large yarding again mostly of non-deseript lots and old cows, except for the latter class. The demand was dull, but practically everything was sold at auction. Not nuinv big cattle were ill. four and o year .steers made £1 As to £4 I'D. ;;-M.-ar ditto £3 Ss to £5 10... 2 year at £2 7s (id to £2 I ox. yearling ditto los to 2(>s, 2-year heifers 355, yearling ditto 25s to 30s. cows 22s fid to 15s. Beef,- A retold yarding, over fifiO head being yarded. The quality was very mixed, but included some really excellent lines. ('onsidering the abnormal yarding it is astonishing how the market held up. especially tor good quality which sold well up to last week s rates. Hard and unfinished cattle especially "half pie” cows sagged somewhat. but taking everything into <onsideralion the sale must be considered a satisfactory one. Prime steers made to £l4 Ills, one extra special line made from £lB to £2.'). medium £8 15s to £ll 1!). lighter and inferior £5 It’s to £8 ss, prime heifers £(i to £O. extra to £lO 15s. others £1 to £5 15s. prime cows £5 10s to C 8 10s, extra to CIO 2s fid, others £2 10s to £5 ss.
Fat pigs. There was a good entry <if fat. pigs, which met with a fair demrad. Bat-oners Mild firmly at late rates and porkers Mild well at the start, hut weakened towards the finish. Values were:—bight linconcrs £3 12s. tu £3 17s fid. heavy Iwcnners £1 os to £ t Ids. extra heavy hat oners £d to Cd 10s. average (id tu fi:ld: light porkers, C2 to £2 7s. heavy porkers £2 10s to C 3 Is. average 7d to Rid; choppers £2 Ids to £7 12s. Store pigs—There was a large entry which met with a very slack demand and sales were difficult to make. Values were: wcaner.x Us to Bs, slips 11s to Ms. medium stores 20s to 30s. large stores to £2.
Mutton—The largest yarding we have had for the last 12 months. Jho yarding again comprised mostly of ewes and the quality was generally very different. Quite a fair proportion again came by road and any unfinished sorts decidedly showed signs of travel. Wlmt few wethers there were in sold well, showing an advance on last week's rale. F.-.ves. taking them all round, showed little if any difference. Ext ort buyers were operating keenly rti nil freezing quality. Prime wethers made 30s to •13s fid. extra to 17s, a few extra special to fi2s, medium 31s to 3-is fid. lighter down to 28s fid. prime ewes 20s to 33s Cd. extra to 30s 10d. medium 2fis to 23s fid. lighter 21s fid to 2"is fid, old ami inferior 17s fid to 21s.
Lambs —A similar size yarding, the quality being bettor on the whole than last week. Ibices showed a decided advance, especially for any good woolled sorts, half hreds especially. The average over all price was 10Jd.
