A mail named Mahon, general manager of the Soda Fountain Company, is charged with the Eastbourne murder. Mahon was remanded to Ilailsham where the inquest on the woman Kay opens to-morrow. Mahon entered the dock and when charged, replied: '‘l have already made a statement which elearlv shows I was not the murder-

lt is now revealed that Emily Kaye the murdered girl, lived in Manchester until two years ago. She was years old. a capable shorthand writer and typiste, and was employed by Death. Stevenson and Company, accountants, where she was private secretary to Donald Death. Miss Kaye was a typical pretty outdoor girl, and a keen lawn tennis and hockey player. Later she came to London and was employed by two city firms. It was when employed by the Robertson Mill Company, accountants. that she first met Mahon, who was general manager of the Soda Fountain Company. The girl wrote to Mrs Beilhy at the beginning of April.

The police have discovered nearly all the bones of the woman Kaye’s bead. They also have evolved a definite theory as to how she met her death.

When Mason was formally charged at 1 lailshaw with the murder of Emily Kaye, he replied:—"lt was not murder.” Mason was remanded. Public excitement is remarkable, and people motored to I lailshaw front all parts of the country. Women and men climbed a high wall and rushed the doors of the court until two hundred were crushed into scats intended for fifty. The accused showed no trace of emotion. The final sensation of the day was the announcement that the police had traced the dark woman, and that she would give evidence at the inquest tomorrow. It is stated there is no mystery about her movements. She states she was driven to the bungalow on Good Friday.

The doctors believe that Kaye died after Mahon had motored her back fo Eastbourne. Mahon went oil to the I’lumptou races.
