WARSHIPS DELAYED.
DIJNJjJDIX, April 30. Tlio warships Dauntless and Dunedin arc delayed owing to the heavy gales and poor visibility in the rain squalls. They were reported off Cape Saunders at 11 o’clock and are due at the Heads at noon.
LATE NIGHT CLOSING HOUR. AUCKLAND, April 30. A .suggestion for the solution of the pioblem of the hours of shop closing on Fridays and Saturdays was made by Justice .Frazer in the Arbitration Court. With reference to an application by tlie newly formed organisation that tlie late night closing hour should lx? 9 instead of 9.30 and that as a compensation shops should close at 12.30, instead of one on Saturday, Justice Frazer suggested that the difficulty might be overcome by making it optional that those shops which closed at 8.3!) on Friday could remain open till ono on Saturday, aiul t-liosc remaining open till nine on Friday close at 12.30 on Saturday.
