At a meeting of'the Napier Branch of the Post and Telegraph Association to-night the following resolution was passed:—“That in view of tiic fact that the recent negotiations with tho Post-niiistor-Geiieral have failed to bring about a satisfactory issue in connection with the salary schedules, this meeting directs the Executive to take a referendum of the Service on the question of a strike; furthermore, this meeting strongly opposes the Cabinet s intention to make the claims of tins' Service subservient to the railway dispute.”

Owing to a conference with the Alinister not having been concluded, they decided to hold a meeting in committee.
SOUTHLAND RESOLUTION
INVERCARGILL, April 29,
At a meeting of the Southland .section of the P. and T. Officers’ Assn, held in Invercargill to-night, the following resolution was carried:— “That this meeting is adverse to a strike ballot being taken at the present time, and is of opinion that tho negotiations should.he continued until all means are exhausted; further., if the negotiations fail, the matter should be deferred until Parliament assembles, and a Parliamentary Committee he appointed to consider all the executive requests.” WELLINGTON RESOLUTION. WELLINGTON, April 30. A large meeting of the P. anl T. Association resolutioned, calling on Air Massey’ to convene Parliament immediately to deal with the industrial situation.
