. AUTUAfN MEETING. The Westland Racing Club opened its autumn meeting this afternoon in fine weather, after having been postponed from yesterday owing to the rain and flood. The attendance is very fair considering the railway strike, The course is holding. TRIAD HANDICAP. From a good start Micro led throughout, winning by a head after a good race up the straight. Dalf-a-lengtli between second and third. Time 1.21. Tote £234. FASTER HANDICAP HURDLES Of .£IOO, second horse £2O and third horse £lO out of stake. About !}• miles. Caslunau (0.0) i Paul Pry (9.3) - Bestir (10.10) 3 , Caverock and Lord Ashlea. on bv ' a length, second length away. Strayshot led the first round and then his weak leg gave way just before lie reached the second hurdle with •the result that he struck the hurdle, the crash, breaking his neck. Strayshot’s rider, who was knocked out, came to after a while.
