TOM MIX WEDNESDAY
A treat is in store for the amusement lovers of Hokitika. For on next Wednesday there will ho shown for a one day run, the William Fox production of “Catch :vly Smoke,” Tom .Mix’s latest starring vehicle which has been the talk wherever it has been exhibited. Not only does the story appear interesting but the acting, direction and photography are of ai exceptionally high calibre, according to the producer. There are also deft touches of comedy throughout. ‘Catch .My Smoko” tells the tale of a returned soldier from France (Tom Mix), who upon artaving at his ranch, discovers plans afoot to do away with him when his enemies discover oil upon his property. How he eludes his enemies with the able assistance ol' his equine pal—Tony-—rescues the girl of' his dreams and comes into his own ought to provide six reels of absorbing action. The situations are said to oe replete with excitement and the entire plot ingeniously constructed. If this photoplay is as interesting as the others in which Tom Mix has appeared, the Princess Theatre will 1 0 jammed to capacity, especially in vii u if the producers’ promise that this photoplay is an exceptional one. A good supporting programme will also lie screened, including the latest in lopicals and a side-splitting two-reel comedy.
On Thursday next a big .special First National “The Cave Girl” starring Tcddie Gerard, a romance of silent trails and rushing waters, cum led i’l midwinter in tbe natural wonders of the Yosemite Valiev.
