THE CRICKET TOUR
STATEMENT BY BABDSLEY
tßeceived this day at 10.25 a.m.j SYDNEY. April 10.
Bardsley. the cricketer, interviewed expressed surprise at the report that several members of the New South "Wales team which recently visited New Zealand had adversely criticised the tour. He thought there was some mistake. It would he most unfair for anv inenilier of the team to say the tout was a farce and the accommodation had. lie considered the tour a success from the-viewpoints of both New South Wales and New Zealand. The younger players had I teen encouraged and had been shown the liner points of the mime. There were some promising players in the Dominion and tours such as the recent one would do a world ot good. On the whole the grounds in. New Zealand were good, particularly in Dunedin. The New Zealand officials had been very hurt over the reports of aliened bad accommodation. Bardslev added :— “They treated us i„ rt wonderful way anil it would be most unjust for any members of tbe team to sav otherwise.
