ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. (By Telegraph Special ta uuardiaru CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:— There was a large yarding which comprised a fair proportion of shipped and travelled sheep. The yarding akr included a large number of aged and inferior ewes: and this class of stuff was a good deal easier. The market opened sluggishly and a fair number of pens were passed, but the sale improved as it progressed. Towards the one. it again slackened. Tho market, although easier, showed little difference for any good conditioned young ewes or good forward lambs, and wethers, especially sold well, but all inferior o: old ewe sor backward conditioned sheep were considerably easier. All the same taking into consideration the general quality, the sale must be considered a good one. A fair clearance was made. Best 2-tooth Romney cross ewes made 30s to 38s, others 26s to 295. An extra good line of 2-tooth I bred ewes made 47s 6(1: best 4-6-8-tonth Romney cross ewes 28s to 34s 6d, others 22s to 27s 6d good 4-6-8-tooth cross bred ewes 27s to 34s 6d, others 23s to 26s Gd, age 1 and inferior 14s 6d to 22s Od best forward lambs 21s 6d to 255, me dium 17s to 21.«, others 13s to 13s Od; best forward wethers 28s to 325, medium 23s to 27s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 21s 9d to 265.

Store cattle: —A good, big yarding and the quality was rather better that usual. Although no big cattle were yarded the demand was better and prices firmer. Bractically everything was sold at auction. 2-yr steers made £2 10s to £3 ss, yearling ditto ]ss to 255. Syr. heifers £3 10s to £4, yearling ditto 25s to £2 3s. cows 15s to £2 ss.

Fat Rigs.—A small entry of fat pigs came forward and they met with a keen demand and sold firmly at late rates. Light baconers made £3 15s to £4 55,-heavy £! IDs to £4 15s, extra heavy £5 to £5 10s, average price 6-Jd to Old : light porkers £2 Ids to £2 17s 6d, heavy £3 to £3 12s, avciage price 8d to 9d ; choppers £2 6s to £5 13s. Store pigs.—A small entry came forward and prices were on a par with last week’s rates. Values were: Weaners 14s to 18s, small stores 21s to 265, medium 35s to 455, large stores to £2 16s.

Beqf.—A very large yarding, including some real useful sorts and hardly as many cows as usual. The market opened cosier than last week, but improved as it progressed and closed veryfirm, especially for prime medium weights. Prime steers made £l2 to £ls, medium £9 10s to £ll 15s, others £6 to £9 ss, prime heifers £7 to £9 ss, extra to £ll, others £4 to £6 15s. prime cows £7 to £9 ss, extra to £ll, others £3 10s to £5 15s. Mutton.—A very large yarding, vendors evidently being attracted by the recent good prices. More wethers than usual were, yarded and the quality all round showed some improvement. The sale opened slackly at about Is to 2s below last week, but the latter half showed a decided improvement and last week’s prices at the end of the sale were more fully maintained. Vest Coast butchers operating helped the sale considerably. Prime wethers made 33s Od to 38s Gd, extra to 45a Gd, medium ditto 29s Gd to 335, others 26s Gd to 295; prime ewes 27s Gd to 33s Hid, a few extra special to 455, medium 2-ls Gd to 275, others 10s Gd to 23s Gd. Lambs.—A larger yarding, the quality generally being better than at last sale. The demand was fairly keen throughout, and if anything showed a slight improvement on last week. Tho overall price was lOjd.
