EXCURSIONS FOR CHILD 11 EX
WELLINGTON, April 7. ' The Minister of Internal Affairs (Hon E. F. Bollard) announces that • the Government has made arrangements for school children to visit ‘l:e ports at which the imperial ;i [iimlroii will call, in order that they in iv see the battleships and cruisers. The school excursions will be confined to trips that may allow the children to return to their homes • u the same day. The dist.i mes to be travelled will depend on the train w v- ' vices that the General Maiiiger et Railways can provide. The scholars of Standards -I, 5, and G» and those of Standard 3, not less than 11 years of age, together with teachers and members of school committees travelling to take charge of and control the children, will be granted school excursion day rales. Barents and others will require to pay ordinary fares for short distances or holiday excursion rates between stations where such rates apply. Only scholars, teachers, and members of school committees will be allowed to travel by school excursion trains. The granting of the day excursion rates to the various schools will not deprive them of their usual annual excursion.
