Jay Gould, of Philadelphia, successfully defended the National Court Tennis championship, defeating Hewitt Morgan of New York in a challenge match o—l, 6—l, 11—9. NEW YORK, April 5 Vincent Richards for the third time consecutively won the national indoor singles championship, defeating Francis Hunter B—6, 6—2, 3—6, 6—3. LONDON, April 6.
At Cannes in the tennis semi-final in the men's doubles Demorpurt and Vanwlen beat Brookes and Aslanglul 2—6, 6—4, 6—3, and the final resulted : Demorpurt and Vanwlen defeated Aeaschljman and Hillyard 4—6, 6—2, 6—3, 6—-2. Tn the final of the mixed doubles Mdlle Lenglen and Brookes heat Mrs Satterthwaite and Hillyard 6—2, 6—l. AUSTRIA TO PLAY. LONDON, April 4. The International Lawn Tennis Federation lias met at Paris, Australia and New Zealand being represented. The Federation withdrew the prohibition against meeting Austria and Hungary in the Davis Cup Olympiad.
