INCREASE IN FRENCH NAVY. LONDON. April 7
Tilt- Paris correspondent of the ‘■Times” says an increase in the .French naval strength in tire Mediterranean is foershndowed in the Naval Bill which will lie introduced immediately.
■REASONS FOR INCREASE

The Naval Bill will authoii.se the laving down of ten naval units in 192-1, consisting of two cruisers of ten thousand tons each, six torpedo boats of 1-150 tons each, rml two submarines of thirteen hundred tons each. it is understood the design of the cruisers has been the subject of special study by the naval exports. They will have heavy armaments, which are particularly needed for patrol work in the Mediterranean. It is indeed to the Mediterranean that the attention ol the French naval and military authorities has been directed under the Army Reorganisation Bill. The French colonial forces now form part of the regular French Army; therefore, it is essential for the French national defence that safe transport for Colonial contingents across the Mediterranean will he assured.
