i’HRILLS AT EM IMRE EXHIBITION. LONDON, Feb. 4. Tlirfls without number to be enjoyed in arm-chair safety will be an outstanding feature of the Amusement Park, 50 acres in extent, when the British Empire Exhibition opens at Wembley in April. So that parents may thoroughly enjoy themselves, they may leave their children in '‘Happylnml,” where there will lie nurses and attendants, and a fully equipped medical stall, to amuse and care for them, in “Happylaml” the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoo will lie ready to entertain her little guests. There is to he Aladdin s.Cate with Aladdin himself in attendance. The Mountain Whiter Chute is a “thriller’’ for grown-ups. \ isitors take their place in a boat and are whirled to a high tower, from which they descend a chute at a tremendous rate, shooting off into the lake at the bottom. Then there is the Safety Racer, a combination of switchback and scenic railway, where on parallel rails two chariots race for a distance of 2,000 feet, Die actual speed of the chariot being determined by the movements of the passengers. Then there is the Whirl of the World, one of the most intricate and puzzling forms of mechanical movement. The passengers ride in twoseater ears and have to traverse a number of revolving discs before they reach the end oi the course.
On the spectacular side there will be a reproduction of Tut-ankli Amen’s tomb in the Valley of the Ivmgs at Luxor, with replicas of all the famous things found therein. There is to be a giant World Globe with all the continents in relief ;nd ships sailing on the seven seas. In one of the oceans is a whale with his gigantic mouth thrown wide. Through this visitors will pass to inspect the interior of the earth and will find subterranean rivers along which they may travel, discovering marvellous things en route. . r •- A-'- r 1
