NOTICES OF AIOTION

1. —The Chairman to move: “That the accounts presented for the month of March, 1924, as revised and recommended by the Finance Committee, amounting to £ —, be passed for payment.” 2. —The Chairman to move: ‘ That the necessary resolution be adopted empowering the Council to borrow by way of overdraft from iho Bank of New Zealand a sum not exceeding £3,500. such overdrafting to he secured by revenue outstanding and uncollected as at 31st. March, 1925.” 3. —The Chairman to move:—“That to secure the repayment of a special loan of £I,OOO at 5J% for the purpose of assisting to rebuild Kakapotnhl bridge, (the repayment of the said loan to he spread over a period" of ten years) the Council authorise the necessary procedure to he taken by special order to pass the requisite resolutions authorising the striking of an annually recurring bridge rate for security of tlie loan of one-fourteenth of a. penny over all rateable properly in the Southern Riding; the annual repayments and interest charges on the lean to he repaid from the general account.’

4.—The Chairman to move: ‘That the list of proposed new works for application for grants, as prepared by Overseer Alilincr, now before tlie Council, lie approved, with such additions as may lie thought necessary, and application bo duly made to the respective Dcparnients for the inclusion of the works in the annual Government Estimates.”

5. Cr. Grinimotul to move: “That urgent representations he made to the Postmaster-General pointing out the necessity for a twice-weekly mail service to AVaiho Gorge. Note: At present twice weekly mail service is provided as far as Hnri Hari hut after the present month only a weekly service will be run to AVaiho Gorge. The rapidly increasing business between Hokitika and AVaiho justifies the additional mail service during the wiiiiei months, also to AVaiho Gorge.
