DEPARTMENT TO CURE QUINN AT SALMON. WELLINGTON, April 3. The Minister of .Marine has approved of the proposal by the Chief Inspector of Fisheries relative to the splitting and mild curing of quinnat salmon netted by the Department in the spawning season. 1c is expected the adoption of this proposal will lead to tliecroation of an interest in and a market for salmon. It is proposed to follow the lines adopted by the best American and Canadian carers. A smoke house will be erected at Halcataramea for the purpose.
