LONDON, Eeh. 1. The King has approved the following appointments : Lords Commissioners of 11. M. Treasury:—Mr William Graham, M.P. (Financial Secretary to the Treasury); Mr Frederick Hall, M.P.; Mr T. Kennedy, M.P., Mr John Robertson, M.P. Treasurer of the King’s Household: Mr Thomas Griffiths, M.P. Comptroller of the King’s Household:—Mr John Allen Parkinson, M.P. Vice-Chamberlain of the King’s Household: Mr John E. Davison, M.P. Mr W. Graham, who is L'L.D. of Edinburgh University and a member of the Edinburgh Town Council, was formerly a junior clerk at file War Office and afterwards became a journalist, in 192 J he published "Wages of Labour." He has been the Sciolist member for Central Edinburgh since .1018. Mr F. Hall,' the senior of the Yorkshire miners’ representative's in the House of Commons, worked in the mine from an early age till he was elected a checkwoighinan. Mr T. Kennedy, member for Kirkcaldy, as a boy worked in the offices of the Great North of Scotland Railway. He is an organiser of the Social Democratic Federation. Mr John Robertson worked in the coal mines as a hoy of Li and is nowchairman of the Scottish Miners’ Union. Mr Thomas Griffiths, member for Pontypool, has been a Socialist Whip since 1910. lie left the elementary school as a half-timer and worked in the tinplate works at -Id a day. When 33 he entered Rtiskin College, Oxford, and maintained himself there, ami his wife and child at home, on a salary of L2 10s a week. Mr John Allen Parkinson entered the coal mines as a hoy, and after 23 years -became a eheekweigher. He Is now agent of the Lancashire and Cheshire Miners’ Federation. Mr John Davison, M.P. for Smethwick, his native place, since 1918, bo gan work early in a boot and shoe shop, and passed into the boiler-malc-ing and iron-founding industry. He continued his education at a night school, became a sanitary inspector, and later a trade union organiser.
