There were strange incidents in an asylum staff strike at Letter in Ireland, the reason whereof was^^*' - refusal to increase wages. Demobilised* soldiers there responded to a call for volunteers, hut their presence caused GOO inmates to get out of hand, inany__ escaping. Citizens joined the guards in a search. All. were recaptured. The strikers picketed the asylum. They detected one inmate sealing a wall. They promptly seized hint, and handed him over to the superintendent.
