A representative meeting of ladies attended the Soldiers’ Ilall yesterday afternoon for the purpose of organising for the 11.5. A. bazaar to be held here ill three months time. Leaders of the various stalls were appointed and arrangements made for the sewing bees. The latter '.'.ill be directed by Mesdames Rutland and Snell. Mes- • j ...1,,.. Morgan and Benjamin will lead in tbo produce and home industries stall. Airs Hunter and .Miss Gillooly will direct the fancy goods stall. Mesdumes Parkin'll, Lynn and Mclntosh will be in charge of the refershment department. The fish pond, bran till) etc., were assigned to the young ladies of the Hockey Club, and the Misses Boss are to take charge of the Sweet Rail. A large quantity of goods from the Returned Soldiers depots at Christchurch anil Auckland will he obtained for sale. The clothing stall will be well supplied with goods. The ladies are arranging for girt, socials and dances meeting entered very enthusiastically inn he whole project. A proposal was mooted to hold an art union, ami this will be considered at a. meeting of the men’s social committee on Thursday night. Messrs Bain and Paterson, joint secretaries for the bazaar were present at the meeting, and were deputed to attend to various matters of to organise the stalls etc., and the organisation. The leaders of the varijional staff as required. and all offers of help will he accepted gratefully. The bazaar movement promises to lie launched with the prospect of being a great financial sitecoss, —tbo main object in view.
