In tho House of Representatives, Labour members did not take part in the debate on Mr Bruce's motion, the discussion being confined to -Ministerialists.

The Statistician’s repott stales during the past three years, the factories have been expanding at the rate of 7.19 per annum and on an average 11,872 additional employees were absorbed each year. The capital invested in factories in 1922-23 amounted to £100,513,629 sterling compared with £113,017,105 in 1919-20. During the past year there were 19,109 factories employing 415,349 workers and the value of the output was £320,448,189.
