SYDNEY, March 31 A special wireless telephone test was. carried out last night between the Chicago Tribune newspaper office and Australia, but the results so far have Knot been ascertained. Early next month a seaplane will leave on a reconnoitring expedition round the Commonwealth to locate suitable sites for seaplane and heavy fuel bases. Fleet celebrations were marred by an amazing rumour that the crews of the warships were all convicts and boys from Borstal institutions on parole. The rumours which are thought to have been spread hy Communists, were at first taken lightly hy the authorities, hut after several bluejackets were insulted hy suggestions of ilieir criminality, the sailors became so incensed that there was talk of taking vengeance . Trouble was averted hy the captain of the Hood assuring the men that Jio rumour would he publicly dispelled. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN FLECTIONS. ADELAIDE, March 31. The campaign for the general elections to lie held next Saturday arc nowin full swing. The issue will he decided between Liberal, Labour and Country Parties.
