MINERS FORCE PREMIER
LONDON, March 30 The "Daily Express” states Mr MacDonald is fighting with his back to the wall. He is trying to save the Government against a clamant section oi Labourites. The Cabinet realised -lavs ago that it could not live if it proluimed a stale emergency. It would teccive tile support of the Conservatives and the Liberals but its own followers would bring it down. The miner Labour members won a sharp battle to-day, forcing the Government to introduce the Minimum Wage Bill. The prospects are that when it is introduced the Government vill be beaten.
LABOUR PARTY. LONDON, March 29. The “Daily Herald” states that Mr MacDonald and several Ministers attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party, which was summoned to discuss the mining situation. The Ministers urged the continuance of industrial negotiations. Eventually the meetng, by a majority. adopted a resolution asking tl e Government to introduce a Minimum Wages Bill without delay.
