SINGAPORE BASE.
AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. SIR PERCY SCOTT’S VIEWS. ■Received this dav at 8 50 a.m.) LONDON, Alarc-h 23. Sir Percy Scott, writing in the press, declares that many naval officers consider that the new weapons against ships will make over ocean warfare impossible—which means that America could not carry a war to Japan or Japan to Australia. Australia can best protect her shores with her own defence, while Britain could materially assist in protecting her shipping.
