“THE SILENT VOICE.’ MONDAY.
Picture patrons are in for a real pictorial treat on Monday next at the Princess Theatre alien a super-special United Artists’ Featuro will be presented starring the great English actor George Arliss (famous for the part he played some time ago as “Disraeli") in in “The Silent Voice.” This play is founded on the story “The Man Who Played God” by Gouvernenr Morris. The story deals with a world famous musician, who suddenly becomes deaf. Embittered against the whole world, he becomes a changed man. and is fast driving wife and friends from him by bis despair and cynicism. To offset bis deafness he Ims learned the art of lip reading, and it is through the medium of the art that he learns of the tragedy in the lives of others that is far greater than his own. So engrossing does his work for the betterment of others become that he begins the game of playing God. The great climax of the story comes in the church when lie suddentlv hears the organ and is mindful of the fact that God is just after all. There is nothing sloppy about this fine picture, it is a treat in real first-class acting. The supporting subjects arc a Topical, further chapters of the wonder serial “The Radio King” and ;■ two-reel eomedv. The. orchestra will play appropriate soles tinus and prices will l>e as usual.
