TOURNAMENT AT NELSON. NELSON, March 27. The Nelson Doll' Club’s professional tournament commenced at the 'laliuna--31 ni links this morning in beautiful weather. Nine professionals are taking part and £2OO is being given in prize money. The links are. m gooi order for so early in the season, and some first-class play was seen m the first match, which was the Co one! Golf Balt (fogey) Handicap, 18 holes, w mi resulted in a win for G V. (Miramar) 6 up. Macßae Nelson was second, 3 up and Stood (Miram.ii) third, all square. Other scores wero :- J. Watt (Auckland), L. J- - (Auckland). E. R. Galloway t « I *"® ‘ ston North), A. CL Shaw (Auckland), all 1 down: J. Mclntosh (Nelson), 0 down: James (Mnsterton) did not return his card. Mr R, C. Kirk, Chairman ot the New Zealand Oolf Council is attending the tournament. This afternoon the stroke handicap of 18 holes is being played.
