LONDON, Alarch 24 In the House of Commons Commander Bellairs asked, in view of the gravity of the issue in regard to the time required to complete the Singapore project, in the event of the Government’s disarmament negotiations nut succeeding, could Air MacDonald state, approximately, the time by which tiie House could know whether the negotiations were successful or not. Air AlacDonald replied that it was not a matter of time, but of circumstances. If the circumstances changed then the loss of time would he no loss at all. Singapore would become necessary when conditions made it necessary. Replying to a question with regard to the train strike Air Gosling announced the Government would introduce a London Traffic Bill to-morrow and pass it as rapidly as possible. Air AlacDonald emphasised that the Government was working its hardest to eml the dispute. Replying to Lord Curzon, Air AfacDonald said (he replies of the Dominion Governments with regard to Singapore would be published fully to-morrow. LABOURITES’ VIE AYS. LONDON. Alarch 24. The “Daily Herald” says the Labour Party has received the following messages from the Dominions’ labourites : From Air Charlton (Australian Labour Leader) “Labour opposes Ah Bruce ’ committing Australia to Singapore. ”
From Air Holland (Now Zealand Labour Leader)“The New Zealand Labour Party is completely opposed to the Singapore scheme.” Newfoundland says:—“The Imperial authorities are the best judges as to the necessity of such a base. AA e urge, you to leave nothing undone which will consolidate and strengthen the Enipiie’s position in the Far East.’’
