AN APPRECIATION. (To the Editor). Sir,— Referring to the recent accident to Miss Harrison at Welcome Hut, 1 would like, through the medium of your paper, to thank, on behalf of our parents, Mr and -Mrs W. Harrison, Miss Anderson and myself (her brother) all those who so kindly and unselfishly endured so much to enable her to get back where she could receive the necessary attention. I would spedally like tc thank Dr. Baird, who so quickly answered the call for help and whose experiences in getting to her must have been most unenviable; also Mr Clcni Williams, whose feat of endurance is one which x\ ill not easily be forgotten. I also wish to thank Mr and Mrs Graham, of Waiho, Mr and Mrs Williams, Wclieka, mu! Mrs Scott, Karangarua, for their kindness and hospitality on the journey back; also all those who helped in the carrying, which, with the added weight of the impromptu stretcher, and the state of the track was no mean task. There are some whose names Miss Anderson could not remember, and 1 wish to thank them ns well as the undermentioned: —Guides Fred and Pat Williams, Messrs Seease, Chris and Louie Gibbs, George Bannister, Scott (2), Barton, Wilson, Katau. Kane and Paddy Power.

No words of mine can express the thanks we feel, and nothing we can do can ever repay the kindness shown by vou all—l am etc., W. F. HARRISON. Redclilfs, Christchurch, 19th. March.
