AMUNDSEN’S POLAR FLIGHT. [“The Times” Service.] (Received this day at 10.2 u a.m.) LONDON, Alarch 23 The “Times” says that Captain llamiiioi', the Danish explorer, has arrived to make filial arrangements for Capt. Amundsen’s attempt to fly across the North Pole from Spitzbergen via Alaska. It is proposed to start at tho end of July. The actual flying time, it is estimated, will be twenty-torn to twenty-six hours. Two machines are being constructed at Pisa and are of tlie large Dornior type, costing eight thousand sterling. Reach has a radius of action of thirteen hundred miles and they are capable of landing on ice or water. The stopping places will depend on the circumstances. It is emphasised tho venture is in no way concerned with the annexation of territory but is solely in the inteiests of scientific research.
