MARI STS’ CLUB CASE
CHRISTCHURCH;' March 18.
Although there has been a fresh development in the situation, the healing of the breach between the Marist Bros Football Club and the Canterbury Rugby Football Union, seems as far off as ever. The troiyUo hinges upon the letter addressed bv the Marist Bros’ Old Boys Association which embodies the Club’s reply to the Union and which the Management Committee) of the Union considered impertinent. The Management Committee insists that this letter lie withdrawn, and an apology given. The development re I erred to is that the Committee of the Association has again written to the Union, and its latest communication is said to outline the position as soon by the club, and to be conciliatory in tune, but it does not amount to any actual apology or withdrawal. This letter, it is learned, was handed in to the Union a few hours before the annual meeting was held. Apparently it was considered bv the Management Committoe when sitting in committee, before the annual meeting of Mie delegates. The absence, later, of the Marist Club delegates from the annual meeting is significant.
