West Coast Farmers’ Lime Producing Coy Ltd.
SECRETARY’S REPORT. I have much pleasure in reporting that in spite of the Farmers being busy lici vesting sufficient orders came in to keep the staff fully employed since Christmas. We have arranged to deliver all hack orders which owing to the rush in the Spring we were unable to deliver. Ploughing for Winter has already commenced in some districts and farmers would ho well advised to place their orders ahead for lime during April and May.
It is possible that we will have to close down about the end of Alay or June for our annual overhaul and repairs, but we want to do so with ns little inconvenience as possible to our clients. Therefore he in time and hook your dates for delivery well ahead lest j Oil should he found lamenting. The following letter has been sent to the Chairman of the Westland County Council in connection with the building of a- bridge over Donnelly’s Creek at tho Lime Works:
I thjnk I am quite safe in saving t.bat the money spent in repairs to the lorry and the money spent on the men after every Hood in making a new ford would pay for the building of two bridges, so that if the farmers want cheap lime we must have this bridge built before next Spring. We deeply appreciate the immediate reply from the Westland County Council offering their quota of £25 towards the work. We hope at a later date to he able to give you a favourable reply from the .Minister of Public Works, the Minister • p Agriculture and tho Ross Boroubh Council.
