The case of Roland Blair, who yesterday was sentenced to seven days imprisonment for undertaking to mak» bet for a friend in the office, has been taken up unanimously by the telegraphists with whom he worked. rhe.t have signed a declaration to the effect that they have every confidence and belief in his integrity. In addition they have forwardedto the Alinister of Justice a very strongly worded telegram demanding Blair’s release on the grounds that the punishment is out of all proportion to the offences. A replv to the effect that the ease will he immediately investigated has been received.
