ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. DROP IN LAMBS. (By Telegraph. --Special to Cuardian.) (Tilt {STC'II IJ KCI I, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:---Store sheep. A very large entry was yarded. comprising mostly of cues, the majority of which were irom overseas. Not many lambs were yarded. The market was very patchy and in the early part of the sale all good young ewes sold well at last, week's rate and, if anything, were firmer, hut towards the end of the sale things got much ea-ier. Wlmt lambs were in sold rather hotter, Imt wethers met with little demand, although the rain has had so far no very marked effect on the market for store sheep it would have been bind to say what would have happened if if bad not come. Shore cattle.— A large entry, again mostly of odd lots and cows. Practically no decent lines were yarded and the demand was very dull, especially for young cattle and sales were very hard to make. II and 1 year st**er- made £3 19- to £7 -Is, yearling ditto 10s to 2.75, ditto heifers 17- to .‘l7-;. cows 8s to 775.
Eat pigs.—A fair sized entry of baroners came forward ami prices improved mi last week’s rates. Porkers were in over supply and values receded. Choppers made £2 to C 7. light baeoners £3 10s to Cl. heavy Cl 7s to CM 17s, extra heavy to £7, average price (Id to (I'Jd : light porkers £2 3s to C2 17s. heavy C'.T to CM (is, average price 3d to S!d.
Store pigs.—A large entry came forward which met with a. poor demand and sales were difficult to make. Values woreWeaners 8s io Ids, small stores 18s to 255, medium 30s to 375. No large stores were offering. Sow- in pig made C2 10s to Cl 12=. Beef.—A much smaller yarding, being only (70 as against 59G last week. Although comprising mostly of cows there were a few decent lines of both .steers and heifers. The market, especially for very host beef, opened firmer than last week and remained so throughout ; but. cows and secondary heel wore again easier and towards the end of the sale were hard to sell. Prime steers made £ll to £l7 10s, extra to CIO 7s, medium £8 10s to CIO 7s, others down to £7 10s; prime heifers CG to £8 17s, extra £lO 7s Cd, others down to £3 10s; prime cows £7 10s to £B. extra to £l4 2s. others £2 12s Gd to £1 7s.
.Mutton. A smaller yarding. but again mostly of ewes, although the quality was generally better throughout. In face of the smaller yarding the market opened somewhat firmer, especially for all wethers and best ewes. Lighter and inferior sorts, however, showed little, if any, change. Prime wethers made 32s to 36s 10s, extra to 39s 9d, medium 28s to 31s Gd, others down to 2os fid ; prime ewes 2Gs to 295, extra special 33s to 375. medium 23s to 27s fid. others lGs 9d to 22s fid. Lambs.—The smallest entry for some ! weeks, the quality again, with the exception of a few good lines, being i very indifferent.
