The Board met tit 8 p.m. Present: Messrs J. J. Breeze (Chairman), Jeffries, Alorel, Davidson, Blank and Duff.

The minutes were confirmed and outward correspondence approved. INWARD CORRESPONDENCE. Front Department of Health, Wellington, re piece of insulin. —Received

From Dr Valintino, Wellington, congratulating the Board on the devclopniet of Hospital and also of grounds (the latter due in the main to Air Davidson).—Received. The Chairman congratulated .Mr Davidson on his splendid work at the hospital and expressed his appreciation that the Department had noted it. Seconded by Air Jeffries and carried. From same approving of the appointment ol Sister (jium as muse lot South Westland. —Received.

From same asking Board to consider the appointment of a medical officer for South of AYaiho.— Received; information to lie supplied. Front Secretary to Health Department approving ol bye-laws. Received.

Wniho Rorge. m connection with the delay in the completion of the Wniho cottage contract, and .stating the delay was due to the inability to procure assistance.—Received. The Chairman stated that the dela, was caused by the inability to get sum of the material for the new building and he was afraid it would be :-i months before the building was finish

Mr .Tell'ries said if it were not possible to get tueir orders completed locally than they should go outside to obtain ihe work required, so that the homo ion 1 1 1 be completed. Mr Dull said the work was held up for the sashes for the windows. Mr Davidson endorsed the statements made as to tic cause ol the delay. Mr Dull said they must- face the situation, and mnild have to keep the Kuimtra Home open fai another six months.

Air .leffries said the delay would seriously elfeet the finances of the Hoard as it was considered the Kuninra Home would !»■ closed by Deo. Hist. last, and ihe levy had been made accordingly. additional maid.— Received. Alter discussion no actum was taken ; the Matron to he asked to rearrange her female .staff. Oil the motion of Messrs Davidson

and Morel it was resolved the prize money won by the exhibits from the Hospital be. paid to the gardener, who was responsible for the display. From Cl. "Wood, stating he; desired to give up charge of the motor ambulance owing to his leaving shortly for an extended holiday.—Received. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Mood for past services. The. appointment’ ot a successor was deferred. REPORTS. From Surgeon Superintendent, "Westland Hospital reporting on .'list. dan. there were 31 patients. Admitted during February. ”1 males, A females, total treated, -id males, IP females--til. Discharged cured 2d males. 1 female, died I male, 1 female. Total discharged 20 males, 2 females—2B. In hospital, 29th. February, 24 males. 12 females —30. In hospital for over two months. 8 females, -1 females—l2. — Received. The report of the Treasurer on outstanding accounts was approved, and the sum of £2159 10s fld was written off. The House Committee reported on a number of requirements which were authorised. It was resolved to have the cottage put in repair for female patients, and report at next meeting. The Treasurer reported receipts £I2oS 13s Id, payments £B3P Os id. dr. balance £289 18s fid, building fund expenditure £631 10s id.— Received. Accounts amounting to £IOO3 13s lid were passed for payment. The next meetings were fixed for April 7th. and 28th. The Board then rose at 10.50 p.iu.
