[by TELEGRAPH —PKll PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DISASTROUS FIRES. INVERCARGILL, March 3. A fire on Sunday morning destroyed Jopp’s Royal Oak Hotel at Arrowtown, and the shops of T. Uro, tobacconist, and 11. Bruce, draper. When discovered, the fire, the cause ol which is still a mystery, had a good hold, and the brigade was powerless, all three shops being demolished in half an hour. The adjacent buildings, though ficorclted and Mistered wore saved. Luckily there was no wind, or a greater part of Jl ' , business section of the town would have been demolished. The insurances on the buildings were:—Royal Oak llolel £1,500; lire s shop £225; Bruce’s shop £550. .Topp estimates his loss at £IOOO.
