N.Z.A.A.A. [lt V TI'XKOKAI'II —PF.it PRESS ASSOCIATION. J WELLINGTON, March 3. The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Association met to-night. The Otago centre applied for the reinstatement of J. B. Wayte, who desired to form a- club at Gore, which, wrote the Secretary, would be a great ham for athletics at Invercargill. They were up against professionalism, as every little centre in Soutbliold is holding professional meetings. There were 2o within a radius of 50 miles. Mr Wayte could do oft. Sin. in the high jump, and about 44ft. in the hop, step, and jump, so he was no mean performer. The committee recommended the reinstatement.
It was agreed to nominate R. Rose and 1\ Munro to the Olympic Council for the Empire games, and Olympic games. Other nominations' will be made after the Dunedin, championships on March loth.
