The Imperial Wireless Committee's it commendations unlade: (1; The enlargement of the new Leafield high power station, now being built at Ilngby, should lie extended to a sixteen mast station. (2) A new station of similai capacity should be erected without delay. (;{) Each high power station .should have a world range and be equipped with the latest apparatus. f|) The Dost Office should establish improved business organisations. (ii) The present terminal wireless station at Cairo should be removed from tin' 'Empire system as soon as the requirements of the Admiralty are met liv other stations and the proposed new high power stations in India. South Africa, Australia are operating. (fi) An expert wireless telegraphing Commission should lie requested to report on the extent and cost of a wireless system lor the colonies to einpletc tlie Empire network of wireless communication.
(7) I’rivate enterprise should be given facilities to develop wireless communication outside the Empire, these to be subject, in the ease of Anglo-Continen-tal services, to augmented royalties or otherwise in view of the competition between wireless and .State-owned cables. (8) There should be free competition in foreign wireless subject to the State reserving the right to ex-propriate. lake possesion or assume control in ease of natlonal emergency. If lie chooses, Marconi has the best; opportunities for developing wireless for internal and long distance eoniiiiiinieation V. ith the Dominions. He probably will also obtain concessions lor fndia. .Sir Godfrey Isaacs says the Committees’ report has tin own back the position for twelve months. Whatever the result, it certainly means a further great delay and considerable complications with the Dominions and India.
