The grass on Cass Square had been cut twice, making four cuttings this season : there bad boon a trial with a petrol mower: some damage had been done to shrubs on C'ass Square, tarring was now in progress on the western avenue of the Square; several donations bad been received, and right to sell refreshments at. picnics had been disposed of. The Secretary referred also to the condition of the finances. The Curator of Canterbury Garden--wrote recommending a petrol mowerprocurable in Christchurch at a cost oi £ll7. Accounts to the amount of £35 -1s were passed for payment. Ihe credit balance to date was £l3 I Is fid. It was announced that the annual meeting of the Society would be held in a month’s time, on the 25th. .March. It was resolved to draw the attention of the caretaker to necessary work at the Square and about the Maenitdtvw Gardens etc.' with a reque-t. for greater attention to ornamental plots to secure a hotter show of hlooms.
