A score of. well-known Liberal Commoners have issued a manifesto urging reconsideration of the. project to lay down new cruisers and tiesLi o<et s• n*s unnecessary, ceonomicailiy .disastrous, and morally wrong, contending -Britain’s action would create mistrust ahnm dand endanger the work of the League of Nations. They assert four new cruisers are already being built for the Royal Navy and point out that Japan lias reduced her naval estimates |,y forty-five million yen.

Ir the debate to-morrow, the Libcrnl-- amendment in reference to Poplar will not result in the Govct nment’s defeat. The Liberals "ill withdraw the amendment. The Conservatives will probably object hut the Government will have Liberal support.
