NEW AEROPLANE RECORD. NEW YORK, Feb. 22 It is reported from Dayton, Ohio, that Lieut John Crendy, of the U.S.A. Air Force, has broken the world’s altitude record for the aeroplane. It is unofficially stated that the height he reached was forty-one thousand feet. RRITISII PROPOSALS. LONDON, Feb. 22. Right Hon A. Henderson, (Home Minister), in a speech at Burnley, disclosed that pensions for all over 70 years, irrespective of income, was one of the Government’s immediate proposals; in addition, they would introduce forty-eight instead of a sixty hours working week, with a maximum nine hours a day. The Government had no intention of departing from its election pledges. Many other hills for improving the factory conditions were in process of incubation.
