..BY TELEGRAPH—PER I’ItESS ASSOCIATION.] B. GRADE FINALS. OREY.MOUTH SUCCESSFUL. At Hie Bond Contest, B. i trade final was decided to-night when the own choice selections were heard. The standard of playing throughout was very good for B. Grade Bands, and Ihore were one or two exceptionally tine performances. Christchurch Municipal Tramways Rand headed the aggregate, with the Artillerv Band, Dunedin, commanding second, and the Greymouth Municipal Band third.

The AA'agnorian Selection “Alignon” was won by Christchurch Tramways with 130 points, the Artillery Band being second with 121, and the First Battalion Band. Wellington, third with 117 The own choice selection was won b.v Greymouth Municipal Band, with 127 points, the Artillery Band and the Christchurch Tramways being equal for second place. H.l. BANDS ASSOCIATION. CMRIST’OTfUIICII, Feb. 21. The annual meeting of the South Island Bands’ Association was held this morning. Dr IT. T. J. Thacker presiding over a large attendance of delegates. Clause 1 of the new regulations, providing that the contest rules and regulations shall be the same for both the North and South Island Associations was adopted unanimously. Regarding Clause 2, providing that, tho Championship contest shall he held in the North and South Islands aliernatelv ,Mr Gondall asked il there was any guarantee that such agreement, if concluded, would bo carried out.

The chairman replied ihat a legal document dealing with the matter would he drawn up.

The Clause was adopted. The Clause limiting the amount ol (•oiliest prize money to £G*JF was lost.

|)r Thacker undertook to present a Championship Shield lor the New Zealand Championships. h wa- decided to recommend Fuat a committee of two delegates iron! each Association he set up. with an independent chairman to settle any contention.-. matter upon which the Associations cannot agree.

It was agreed that the Association standing down each year with respect in the New Zealand Contest should have the right to promote only B. and C. grade contests, and only them, not within threw months of tho main fix-

It was resolved that the contest in 1926 be bold in Dunedin. In remarking that, the 1925 contest had already been allotted to Auckland, Dr Thacker said it would be the duty of all the South Island bands to support the Auckland contest, and they could then look to the Northern bands to make the Dunedin contest a success.
