TERRIBLE DISASTER.
FI REV. GRE S’ FACTORY EXPLOSION. LONDON. February 19. A fire broken out in a wooden shod at Gilbert's Fireworks at Crayford, in which 2G girls were emnloyr.d in dismantling Ye rev lights. Simultaneously a terrific explosion oc.-iiii"L Idling 12 girls, all under 20 years of ago. A lor email was also killed and two girls were terribly injured, hem;' tun c 1 from head to foot. -The remainder escaped slightly injured although the force of the explosion tore their clothes off. The shed burned for three hours, and the remainder of the victims were unrecognisable. A I ore woman says that it all happened in a flash, and without warning. Through the smoke she saw the twisted hodies'of the dead girls. It was a terrible sight.
