SWIMMING.

The weather was again cold and wiidy for the Swimming Club’s Carnival at the Baths last night, consequently the attendance was only moderate. However, some interesting races and diving events were contested, and a jolly hour or two was spent. The Baths will he open this evening from 7.30 to 9 p.m.; several races atul other events are on the programme. Following tire the results of last night’s Carnival: •25yds. Men’s Handicap—lT. Rougher (scr.) M. Houston (.’Lees) Ist.. T. Gaylor 3rd. Time IC> J-5. nOvds. Men’s Handicap—G. Tomlinson (2sec.) 1; H. Rougher (scr.) 2nd. Time 35 1-5. Back Stroke—A. King Ist., T. Gavlor Swimming under water—A. King 1; j 0 tear. Ist. . . ... The boys’ diving being for points, will h- decided at the end of the week. Beginners’ Race.-Miss Joan Butlaid'being the only competitor, swam 1 length of the Bath, giving a good exhibition of the various strokes, sprinting the last ten yards in good style.
