PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, Fob. 18 All the visiting Bands assembled this afternoon at tlie Botanic Gardens, where they were accorded a civic reception by Afayor Flesher. There was a big attendance of the public. 'The Chairman of the Contest Committee said that it was estimated the cost of the contest would be tyidOO, but it would be worth it. Following are the results : Side Drum Solo.—J. Stewart (Invercargill Battalion) 24 points L J. Hinton (Invercargill Hibernian) 63, 2. Also competed: T. Atkinson (Woolston) (i2, G. Moss <First Battalian, Wellington) 60.
